The Queimadas Forest Park offers you the chance to admire the jungle of Laurissilva, a magical place located in the municipality of Santana. Here the flora thrives and is colored with a thousand of shades.
The park has several paths and routes depending on the level of difficulty, and inside have several houses built in the typical style of Santana with thatched roofs and long white chimneys.
The typical path is filled with rhododendrons and azaleas that grow along the boulevard and follow the tourists step by step, even when the road narrows and becomes full of moss forest and trees, this is the sign that marks the passage in the “Green Cauldron “, named so because it is completely covered with plants and with spectacular views over the Ribeira Grande and over the large valleys of Santana.
At the end of the Green Cauldron will be a wonderful cascade of 100 meters, which flows into a lake surrounded by green rocky walls.
