Machico, pearl of the island of Madeira.

The city of Machino, with its 11,800 inhabitants, is the fourth place in Madeira for the number of people who live there.

It is a very beautiful and characteristic town, surrounded by numerous varieties of colorful flowers, certainly an inevitable place if you visit Madeira.

It can be the right place to book your vacation on the island of Madeira, as this place is the right mix between city, sea and mountain. It is possible to stay on the beach both in free and paid mode, the cost of umbrellas and sun loungers is really low compared to European standards, so you can safely take off this challenge. Nearby is also possible to book offshore excursions with specialized ships and guides.

Church of Nossa Senhora From Conceicao

This church, located in the center of Machico, dates back to 1469 and was designed by the architect and Master Mason. Outside you will find a simple style crowned with classical columns, the interior is richly decorated, and you will find in the center, at the bottom, a golden altar that will immediately draw your attention. Outside you will also find an ancient statue of Vaz Teixeira.

Walking around in the center of Machico you will definitely come across this beautiful fort built in 1706 and became famous because it was the last fort to capitulate heroically during the repression by England of the Independent States in 1828.
